The Mississippi Small Cattle Group (MSSCG) continued its foray into rural America on April 27, 2024, with a stop at Bernard McKinney Farm in Holmes County, MS. MSSCG vaccinated and castrated more than sixty heads of cattle. Bernard said he had learned methods to improve his cattle herd health by associating with MSSCG. “We are implementing herd health practices which will create dividends at the auction barns.” Allen McReynolds said, “We are propelling forward to engage with other small farmers across Mississippi to share our results. This project is tedious and challenging; however, we are committed to delivering positive solutions to keep our family farms operational.”
