The Winston County Self Help Cooperative continued to build hope in rural America on Thursday, March 14, 2024, by assisting farmers with purchasing supplies at a discount.
Allen McReynolds, WCSHC, said, “We are working collectively to help our colleagues maintain and grow their farm operations. We developed a feed initiative in 2017 to help our producers lower their input costs. We work with our supplier to obtain a hefty discount. The company delivered the feed to a location on a selected date. We require participants to be on time to receive delivery. This process helps reduce the time needed to unload and reload the feed. We estimate our farmers save seventy dollars per ton through this process.”
