The next generation of young farmers based in East Central Mississippi is receiving an infusion of artificial intelligence skills before returning for the fall semester. The Winston County Self Help Cooperative (WCSHC) is mindful of how artificial intelligence is impacting our daily routines, and the co-op is taking proactive steps to educate its members and youth groups.
Co-op member Shirley Gladney shared her enthusiasm for the initiative:
“I want to learn and enhance my knowledge about AI. I realize artificial intelligence will be a permanent part of my daily life. This is why the co-op is investing in our youth’s future—to ensure they are prepared to compete for life’s opportunities.”
To broaden the participants’ skill sets, WCSHC connected with Larry White, a graphic designer based in Louisville, MS. The co-op sponsored five individuals to participate in a three-hour class on Monday, July 13, 2026.
