WCSHC Community Health Fair

Wednesday 01 October 2025

The Winston County Self Help Cooperative’s Campus was teaming with individuals, who traveled far and near to participate in the Co-op’s first Community Health Fair, Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 2948 Highpoint-Weir Rd, Louisville, MS. Dr. T’arie Todman, WCSHC member, underlined the disparities in the delivery of adequate health care services for families living in marginalized communities. WCSHC is an advocate for families to have a superior quality of life to help sustain rural communities. We have family members, coworkers and friends living with undiagnosed health issues. This scenario propelled WCSHC to host this holistic event to promote physical and mental health awareness among Winston Countians. Life can be extremely challenging with daily consequences and unexpected matters.

Sometimes these dual factors can be detrimental to health outcomes. Today, we are offering individuals a safe place to discuss their health issues. Also, we have representatives here discussing health advantage plans. Additionally, we have food vendors offering locally grown and value-added products. We convey thanks to the G.A. Carmichael Family Health Center staff of Canton, MS, for providing our families and the community with professional health services. Frank Taylor, WCSHC, Team Leader, said, “G. A. Carmichael Family Health Center earned Winston County Self Help Cooperative’s Service Award for saving lives in rural America on October 1, 2025.
