Winston County Self Help Cooperative served as the educational platform and a connector for classmates on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. WCSHC convened a regular business session focused on highlighting delinquent property taxes. As the sun tilted westward towards Highpoint-Weir Rd, Louisville, MS., individuals started descending onto the historic, 148-year-old, Miller-Gladney Farm. Frank Taylor said, “My great-great grandfather, Jack Miller, purchased this property in 1877, twelve years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.” Several attendees acknowledged the appealing manicured lawn. Fred Scott and team members spent five hours mowing and weeding the expansive lawn. As the clock’s hands landed on ten minutes until 5 pm, Frank Taylor, WCSHC Team Leader, started a general conversation with attendees. In the audience were two of Frank’s high school classmates. Katherine Love-Eichelberger and Diane Miller-Cooper attended the business session to learn about delinquent property taxes. Elaine Hobson will submit a detailed article about the business session. Nevertheless, this venue presented an opportunity for the classmates to elaborate on past and present events. Yes, the Winston County Self Help Cooperative is a vehicle, driving positive change and a conduit for classmates to reunite.
