Unbelievable Snow in the Deep South

Snowday
Wednesday 22 January 2025

Individuals living south of Interstate 10 experienced snow on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. It is highly unlikely for places like Houston, Lafayette, New Orleans, and Mobile to receive a pounding of snow across the deep south. This once-in-a-lifetime event caused major hiccups for humans, plants, and animals. The nighttime temperatures in most places dipped below freezing and caused major issues for drivers who are not accustomed to navigating on slick roads. The Department of Transportation, in several states, closed main bridges and thoroughfares in urban centers to reduce automobile accidents. Homeless shelters for individuals and pets offered a buffet of services to protect the vulnerable.

We contacted several ranchers and vegetable producers in the impacted area. They responded positively to the current weather conditions. Pastor Terry Thomas of Columbia, MS, sent pictures and videos of his cattle. I believe the weather conditions will improve, and temperatures should rise above sixty degrees by this Thursday.
