Richard and Ruthie Carter celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on August 16, 2024, in Heidelberg, MS. Linda Fowler, Mrs. Ruthie’s niece, organized this grand celebration. The Carters were surprised with the huge extravaganza for their 63rd wedding anniversary. Additionally, Linda arranged a formal ceremony to renew their wedding vows. Mrs. Carter recounted the fantastic event and the outpouring of love from their family, friends, community members, and organizations:
“It was simply beautiful and a wonderful moment for Richard and me. People from the surrounding area brought gifts, cards, and money. We are thankful for their love and support in helping us celebrate our 63rd wedding anniversary. Richard and Ruthie are associate members of the Winston County Self Help Cooperative and the Central Mississippi Small Farmers Alliance.”
“We are thankful for the Carters,” said to Sherrie Spivey. “They have provided both organizations with exemplary leadership.”
Allen McReynolds said, “I have been associated with Mr. Richard and Mrs. Ruthie for more than thirty-five years. They have lived and worked in rural America with a passion for helping mankind.”
