The Winston County Self Help Cooperative members participated in the Janet Carter Scholarship Fund 12th Mother/Daughter Breakfast held Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 9 am at Sweet Pilgrim United Methodist Church in Shubuta, MS. Mr. Richard & Mrs. Ruthie Carter hosted this event in the memory of their only child, Janet Lee Carter. The Carters issue yearly scholarships to college students in their area. Shirley Gladney of the Winston County Self Help Cooperative said, “We will always support the Carters in their efforts to inspire children with financial stipends and leadership.” Frank Taylor, WCSHC Team Leader, delivered inspiring words and encouragement to the Carters for their valor efforts to change life’s trajectory in rural America. Frank thanked the food preparers, the community, and others for their indelible support. The 12th Scholarship Fund ended with songs and pictures with Santa Claus.
