Distributing Strawberry Harvest Across Mississippi

Friday 09 May 2025

Bright and early on Thursday May 8, 2025, Mayla and I headed to the Winston County Self Help Cooperative’s Demonstration Farm to pick fresh strawberries. After we harvested the berries, we washed and prepared them for distribution to the community in Starkville, MS. We handed them out to church members, family, and friends. As we shared the strawberries, we mentioned that they were grown locally in a high tunnel at the farm in Louisville, MS. The recipients were thrilled to receive them, and one person exclaimed, “You made my day!” The community was pleasantly surprised to learn that the Cooperative had grown the strawberries and asked if they would be available for sale.
